Ambra house
Refurbishment of a detached single-family home
Location: Pego – Marina Alta · Project: 2017 · Construction: In construction· Total floor area: 145 m2 · Architect: Pere Joan Pons · Collaborators: Maria José Siscar (arquitecta)
This intervention consists in the rehabilitation, remodelling, functional adaptation and interior design of a detached single-family home in its original and out-dated state, located in the north side of a mountain with considerable incline. The starting point of this project is to make the most of the existing space and improve it by means of a redistribution. The main access is relocated to the façade facing the entrance of the plot, and thus achieving a main hall which functions as a joint point for the different rooms of the first floor.
The kitchen is enlarged and connected to a terrace with direct access to the pool, in this way forming an excellent space to use during the summer months, directly linked both to the interior and exterior zones of the house. The intervention includes the adaptation of the building to the present-day standards of quality and energetic efficiency: improving temperature and acoustic conditions, renovating the constructive systems and installations.
